OILECO is an EU initiative supported by the Intelligent Energy for Europe Programme aimed to promote public-private partnerships that establish UCOs value chains ex novo, or consolidate already existing ones: collection of used cooking oils (UCOs), cleaning (or reconditioning) of collected UCOs, and energy valorization of the collected and cleaned UCOs, through local scale ventures, with special emphasis on the potentials in UCO availability and in distributed electricity & heat generation.

The Energy Agency of the Region of Madrid (FENERCOM), as partner of OILECO Project, organized on 13th December 2013 the OILECO Final Conference. The different participants evaluated the expectations and achievements on UCO collection and valorization made under the OLEICO project. The Energy Management Agency Province of Cádiz took part in this Conference to present RecOil project and the main actions and results obtained so far.

Besides the Energy Agency of the Region of Madrid, the Conference included speakers as the National Association of Waste Managers of Edible Oils and Fats (GEREGRAS), as well as other UCO management companies. The Conference was closed with a round table where OILECO partners explained how the project was developed locally, the results obtained and the different barriers and difficulties found during their implementation.
